Accordeoniste en drager van verwondering. Creëert en speelt voornamelijk eigen muziek geïnspireerd op traditionele muziek uit Scandinavië, Finland en België.

Studeert‘The Nordic Master in Folk Music (NoFo), een samenwerking tussen vier verschillende Conservatoria in de volgende Noordelijke landen: The Royal College of Music (KMH) Zweden, The Danish National Academy of Music (SDMK) Denemarken, Ole Bull Academy (Voss) Noorwegen en de Sibelius Academy Finland. Elk semester bestudeert zij de folktraditie van een ander land. Deze studie eindigt in juni 2023.

Behaalde een masterdiploma klassiek accordeon (cum laude) aan the School of Arts Gent olv van Philippe Thuriot (2013) en aan het Conservatorium van Pescara olv Claudio Jacomucci (ITA) (2014).

Trad zowel als soliste als in verschillende ensembles op in België en andere Europese landen.

Speelt samen met beeldend kunstenaar A De Causmaecker in het kunstenaarscollectief |DUOBAAN|. Hun objectief is om grenzen af te tasten tussen muziek-beeld- performance, klank en geluid rond het werk van 20ste en 21ste eeuwse componisten. Ze stonden op diverse podia gaande van het festival Voorwaarts Maart (Bijloke Gent, 2015), Kamernestfestival (Gent, 2016), diverse huiskamers het Parkfestival Vlaanderen (Gent, 2016, 2017), Concertgebouw Brugge (april 2017). Ze reikten tot Rome (2016), Parijs (2018) en Birmingham (2019). Met woordkunstenaar Marieke De Maré |DUOBAAN XL| maken ze voorstellingen met tekst. “Voor u” (2017), “The Sound of Today” een online kunstproject (2017-2018) – “The Sound of Mechelen” (Lunalia festival 2019) en ‘Nooit komt een eind aan ons verlangen’(2019).

‘twwcu’ is een improvisatieduo met klarinetiste AnnaMaria Ignarro, dat hedendaagse abstracte klanken verweeft met zuchtende melodieën en korte harmonische progressies.

In het rootsproject ‘Strograss’ speelt ze met een vroege liefde voor volkse melodie en meerstemmige harmonie. Ze stond in clubs, cultuurcentra en op festivals: Dranouter festival (2014, 2017), Labadoux (2015), International Volksmuziekfestival Gooikoorts (2014), N9 Eeklo (2017), Herbakkersfestival (2013), Gentse Feesten (2014, 2017, 2018), the European World of Bluegrass Festival (2017), Boombalfestival Lovendegem (2018), Stadsschouwburg Brugge (2018), …

Speelde samen met klassieke ensembles: Multiple Choice duo met accordeonist Luca Pignata (ITA), het 5-koppige ensemble S p ! t s b e r g e n met hedendaagse muziek van Vlaamse componist George De Decker. Ze bracht de voorstelling ‘Vlot/Raft’ (Januari 2016) en de wereldcreatie ‘Le mont analogue’ in het Kunstencentrum Nona tijdens het Festival van Vlaanderen (Mechelen, April 2016).

Speelde nieuwe creaties van volgende componisten: Claudio Jacomucci (2012, 2013), George De Decker (2016), Linde Timmermans (2017), Julia Emmery (2017), Stan Maris (2019), Eddy Flecijn (2019), Jasper Vanpaemel (2019).

Nam in 2017 een 2de cd “Brother Earth” op met het rootsproject Strograss. Speelt mee op de 3de cd ‘Klara fingerprints’ | muzikale vingerafdrukken van componerend Vlaanderen.

Geeft les accordeon | kamermuziek | soundpainting aan het Conservatorium van Kortrijk.

Won de Primo Premio Assoluto (2013) tijdens de Internationale accordeonwedstrijd Santeramo in Colle (ITA), werd finalist van de Supernova Classic (BEL) met het Multiple Choice duo (2015) en Strograss viel meermaals in de prijzen: Dranouter Roots Rally, Folk- & Rootsrally Muziekmozaiëk.

Heeft deelgenomen aan verschillende masterclasses voor accordeon met Claudio Jacomucci (IT) (l’Accademia Fisarmonicistica), Mika Väyrynen (FI), Massimiliano Pitocco (IT), Alexander Dmitriev (RU), Jacques Mornet (FR) en masterclasses voor alexandertechniek met Kathleen Delaney (IT) (l’Accademia Fisarmonicistica). Workshop in Soundpainting met Walter Thompson (US) (2015, 2017) en een Deep Listening Workshop met Pauline Oliveros (US).

Barbara Eva Ardenois started studying the accordion with Patricia Georges and Karin Van Steenlandt and then continued at the Conservatories of Ghent (BEL) and Pescara (ITA) with Philippe Thuriot and Claudio Jacomucci. She graduated in accordion at master level (cum laude) in 2013 at the School of Arts, Conservatory of Ghent and in 2014 in Pescara and has a bachelor degree for secondary education.

She performed as soloist and with different ensembles in Belgium, Italy, France, The Netherlands in institutions like: the concert hall de Bijloke (Ghent), Festival of Flanders (Kortrijk, Mechelen, Ghent), museum Mu.Zee Oostende and The Academy of Ieper [live broadcast national radio Klara], Stadsschouwburg Brugge, Italian culture Institute of Amsterdam, Miry hall Ghent, Wazemmes l’Accordéon (FRA), Vondelkerk (NDL), Conservatory of Pescara, Barco Ducale di Urbania (ITA), Sala Raffaello di Urbino (ITA).

Duobaan is an artist collective with visual artist and performer A De Causmaecker. Duobaan is a duo that works in and explores the fields of contemporary music, sound art, performance and visual art. Small, compact, close to the audience, challenging for mind and senses and slightly crazy. Some locations where they played are: festival En Avant Mars / Voorwaarts Maart (Bijloke Ghent, 2015), Kamernestfestival (Ghent, 2016), living room concerts, during the Parkfestival Flanders (Ghent, 2016, 2017), Concertgebouw Brugge (april 2017) and Post Paradise in Birmingham (UK).

S p ! t s b e r g e n is a quintet of young musicians performing the music of Flemish composer George De Decker: ‘Vlot/Raft’ (January 2016) and the world creation ‘Le mont analogue’ in Art centre Nona during the Festival of Vlaanderen (Mechelen, April 2016).

She had different collaborations with classical musicians: Koper quintet of the National Orchestra Belgium (2015), Multiple Choice duo with accordion player Luca Pignata (ITA) (2014-…), Duobaan XL with word wizard M De Maré:  ‘Voor U’ (2017) and ‘Nooit komt een eind aan ons verlangen’ (2019).

In 2017 she recorded a 2^nd cd “Brother Earth” with her roots project Strograss. It is the project of five young Belgian musicians coming from different musical horizons, but all equally passionate about roots music and songwriting. They performed on several national folk festivals such as: Dranouter festival (2014, 2017), Labadoux (2015), International Volksmuziekfestival Gooikoorts (2014), N9 Eeklo (2017), Herbakkersfestival (2013), Gentse Feesten (2014, 2017, 2018), the European World of Bluegrass Festival (2017), Boombalfestival Lovendegem (2018), Stadsschouwburg Brugge (2018), …

She is accordion, ensemble and soundpainting teacher in the Music Academy of Kortrijk (BEL).
